2/15-2/22 POTENTIAL Belize Retreat

Recently, Caitlin (aka Flow) got back from an amazing week in Belize where she met up with her Mom for a weeklong eco-adventure yoga retreat. She came back full to the brim with tropical warmth, magical memories made with her Mom, and gratitude for the people and beauty of Belize! Of course, while on retreat she was background scheming to see how we might be able to partner with Belize Yoga for a retreat of our own...with less yoga and more mermaid magic!! It's POTENTIALLY happening, but we need to know if this kind of retreat would resonate with you all & if you'd be willing to spend your hard-earned vacation time and dollars on this amazing experience! If it sounds like something you're 99% sure you'd be in for the Retreat please sign-up for the waitlist! If you're 98% sure (or less) please refrain from signing-up. We love your enthusiasm, but we'll be putting a chunk of change down upfront to get this thing off the ground and want to be really cautious about our decision to do that. Dates: Feb 15- Feb 22, 2025 - one magical week that is also February Vacation for Maine schools (but President's Day is in there so FREE day!)

Expenses: 

Retreat Cost

$3395 per person, double occupancy. $800 surcharge for single occupancy.

Includes:

• All meals
• 4 nights jungle lodging in the Maya Mountains
• 3 nights island lodging on an idyllic Caribbean island
• Mayan ruin tour
• Caving tour
• Snorkeling tour to the world’s second-largest barrier reef
• All transfers in Belize (on our scheduled shuttles)

Not Included:

• International airfare to BZE*
• Gratuities**
• Alcohol or other beverages not included with meals***
• Additional tours, spa treatments, etc., not listed in tour package****

*Caitlin's airfare was about $600. I flew out of Boston (add on bus fare), layover in Atlanta (or Miami), and then to Belize City. It's about 6.5 hours total. Airfare prices may be higher since it's Feb Vacation week.

**Caitlin spent about $200 in gratiuities because every.single.person I encountered went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Tourism is Belize's top industry and they are REALLY good at their jobs. Tips for drivers, guides, servers, housekeepers, and our retreat coordinator.

***Caitlin spent about $200 on lime juice, fun tiki drinks, souvenirs, and Belizean snacks!

****Caitlin did not opt into additional tours or treatments. Both places you stay have PLENTY of complimentary activities to do and honestly, it felt really nice to read in the hammock during free time and just decompress.

This is not a Retreat meant for kids, but it would be perfect to invite your best friend, your sweetie, your parent, or your adult kiddo!  

Belize Info:

Do you like birds? Belize has lots of amazing neo-tropical birds!!

Do you like easy math? The Belize dollar is fixed to the USD...$1 USD = $2 Belizean dollars

Do you like speaking english? Everyone in Belize speaks English (thanks, colonalism :\), but they also speak Spanish, and creole

Do you like really kind people who are excited to share their culture with you? Belizeans are the best!

Do you like silly puns? The puns are unBELIZEable!

Caitlin's Disclaimer:

I never thought I would be a "group travel" type of person, but this trip really flipped the switch for me. It was SO nice to have someone else make the plans and be sure we're all moving in the correct direction. The folks that signed up were so lovely, creative, and kind and my own creativity just blossomed during this restful week. If you're the itinerary planner in your circle I highly encourage you to take this trip for yourself. Belize Yoga has built incredible relationships with the folks where you will stay and you will feel like you're walking into your second (more tropical) home. The pace of the trip is perfect and you really get the best of Belize (jungle & island) in one week!

To get a sense of the pace you can check out this sample Itinerary on the Belize Yoga website. We will shift the am and pm yoga sessions, to be more in line with our skill set. We'll likely keep a movement portion in the morning and the pm sessions will be focused on creative practices/writing/celebrating!
